HOW WE WORK

Every project begins with a story. Our role is to help you tell it.

Long before a report is presented, a strategy is approved or a business plan is complete, there’s a story waiting to be told. It’s built through conversations, meetings, research, lived experience and ideas captured over weeks, months or even years.

THAT’S WHERE WE COME IN

The knowledge is already there. Bringing it together is the hard part.

By the time people come to us, the story rarely exists in one place. It’s often spread across notebooks, meeting minutes, voice recordings, workshop outcomes, research papers, draft documents and countless conversations.

Our role isn’t simply to write a document. It’s to understand the work you’ve already done, uncover the story within it and help communicate it in a way that people can understand, trust and act on.

YOUR STORY

Wherever your starting point is, we’ll meet you there.

Some clients arrive with months of research neatly organised into folders. Others bring handwritten notes, workshop outcomes, voice recordings or ideas that have never made it beyond a conversation. Most arrive with a combination of everything.

You don’t need to organise everything before getting in touch. Helping people make sense of information that feels scattered or overwhelming is one of the most valuable parts of our work.

OUR ROLE

Four steps, one purpose: the story you’re trying to tell.

We start by listening.

Every project begins with a conversation, because understanding your work matters just as much as understanding the document. We learn about your project, your audience and what you’re hoping to achieve, talk through what you’ve already gathered and identify any gaps.

We bring everything together.

We review the material you’ve shared, organise it into a logical structure and connect ideas that may have been sitting in different places. As the information takes shape, the story becomes clearer.

Only then do we begin writing.

By this stage the hard work is done. The structure is in place, the purpose is clear, and every decision about the writing is guided by the understanding we’ve developed together.

We refine it together.

Once the first draft is complete you’ll review it, share feedback and make sure it reflects exactly what you want to say. We see every project as a collaboration and keep refining until you’re completely comfortable.

YOUR IMPACT

When it’s finished, you’ll have much more than a polished document.

You’ll have clarity around your ideas and confidence in how they’re being communicated. Instead of information spread across multiple files and conversations, you’ll have one cohesive piece of work that reflects your knowledge, your experience and the purpose behind the project.

Whether it’s presented to a Board, submitted with a funding application, shared with your team or used to guide future decisions, you’ll know it tells the right story.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING

There’s no perfect starting point.

If it’s important to your project, we’ll find a way to work with it.

COMMON QUESTIONS

The things people ask before getting started.

Do I need to have everything organised before we start?
Not at all. Most people don’t, and that’s often the reason they reach out. Organising information, identifying what’s important and bringing everything together is a key part of our process.
Can you work from voice recordings, handwritten notes or workshop outcomes?
Absolutely. Valuable information comes in many forms, and some of our strongest projects begin with conversations and notes that haven’t yet been turned into a formal document.
Will the finished document sound like me?
Yes. Every document is developed around your voice, your organisation and your objectives. Our role is to strengthen your message, not replace it.
How involved will I need to be?
That depends on the project and how you like to work. Some clients enjoy collaborating throughout, while others are happy to hand everything over after the initial conversations. Either way, you’ll review the work before anything is finalised.

Some stories are written to be read. Others to create change. The best do both.
